Located in the Wetherbee House: Historic Acton Home
Scheier, Katin & Epstein P.C. is located in the Wetherbee House on Route 2A in Acton. Now situated next to the Acton Car Wash & Detailing, this historic home dates back to 1873, when it was first built as a mansion for a wealthy Acton family. We love that our comfortable and convenient Acton law office location has a rich and interesting past, and are lucky to have the photos to tell the story today.
In 1994, Ruth Barbarow photographed what was then an old and broken-down house on Rt. 2A in Acton. The house sat next to the old Acton Cinemas. This four-screen cinema operated from 1973 until early 2002, under the operation of Cinema Four Corporation and later Hoyts Cinemas. Its former space is currently occupied by a liquor store, Colonial Spirits.

Just to the left of the old Acton Cinema was the Wetherbee House, first built as a mansion in 1873 by a wealthy Acton resident. Through the years it fell into disrepair and became known as the Old Haunted House.
The house and land was eventually purchased by Leo Bertolami of Acton, who moved it back from the road and restored it. It now houses our law offices, and stands proudly atop the hill off Rt. 2A.
